Shrek is a fictional ogre character created by American author William Steig. Shrek is the protagonist of the book of the same name and of eponymous films by DreamWorks Animation. The name “Shrek” is derived from the German word Schreck, meaning “fright” or “terror”.
Donkey is Shrek’s best friend and the comical character in the film Shrek. He is quite literally, a talking donkey. Visually speaking, he is an animal (donkey), who does not wear clothes.
Gingy was created by the Muffin Man, along with the rest of the Gingerbread people. Some years later, he attended Cookie Academy, at which he excelled in Home Economics. Sometime later, he got married to a red-head gingerbread woman, but the relationship did not last.
Puss in boots is Shrek’s sidekick. Loosely based on the fairytale character Puss in Boots as well as being a kind of parody of Zorro, he is a smooth-talking cat with a Spanish accent, usually wearing a cavalier’s hat, a belt with a sword, a small black cape, and small Corinthian boots.
Princess Fiona. Princess Fiona is a fictional main character who serves as the female lead in DreamWorks’ animated Shrek film series. She made her first appearance in the first film in the franchise, Shrek (2001), voiced by American actress Cameron Diaz.
